Richard is a specialist in flood risk, hydraulic modelling, and water-environment strategy, known for delivering high-value technical projects for consultants and public-sector clients across the UK.
He combines deep modelling expertise with a strong focus on innovation, efficiency, and practical problem-solving.
He has led major programmes including the Enfield Strategic Flood Risk Assessment, where he delivered over 110 site-specific reports and designed automated mapping tools that transformed the council’s planning process.
For the Isle of Man Government, Richard managed a £250k suite of fluvial and coastal models, overseeing all technical and client-facing aspects while contributing hands-on modelling and calibration where needed.
Richard is also recognised for driving internal innovation—streamlining modelling workflows, improving methodologies, and developing tools now progressing into standalone software.
His leadership on Southern Water’s Urban Pollution Modelling programme and his involvement on the Leeds Flood Alleviation Scheme further showcases his ability to manage multi-disciplinary teams, solve complex technical challenges, and deliver reliable, high-quality outputs under pressure.
